On June 25, 2009, Firefli was born to founder Greg Brock in the basement of his home in Roanoke, Virginia. Cue the crying baby noise!

Firefli began with a handful of people who wanted to build digital experiences that feel human — and it’s grown into a team that still works that way. We’re a collective of thinkers, innovators, and creators who believe that curiosity fuels collaboration.
July 2012
Bringing on more team members was a huge step—but it also meant that the basement was no longer cutting it. On July 2, 2012, the very first Fireflies set up shop at their new office space in Roanoke's Grandin Village.
June 2015
It wasn't long before Firefli's swarm grew again, prompting the move to the Market Street office on July 1, 2015.
November 2019
With more team members in the swarm than ever before, it was time to find a space that could support all present (and future!) Fireflies. On November 1, 2019, Firefli moved to its current home, a multi-story warehouse building in Downtown Roanoke.
Februrary 2021
Since the beginning, we've been committed to creating a workplace culture of positivity and support...but we never expected to be awarded for it! In February of 2021, Virginia Business Magazine recognized Firefli as one of the top 20 Best Places to Work in Virginia. Read more about the award here.
May 2022
As remote work became the "new norm", Firefli officially adopted a hybrid model in May of 2022 to support a growing swarm located all across the U.S.—but never fear! No matter where our Fireflies roam, we'll always have a home in Roanoke.
